The City Wall

Old Town Dubrovnik is surrounded by a giant wall-- even the port. The wall is acessible to tourist (for a price). But be warned: there are one million stairs and no traction on the well-worn stones. Avoid the wall on a rainy day, but be sure to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen on a hot one. There isn't any shade up top.









We hopped up on the wall and swung our legs over the ledge to eat a light lunch of fruit, cheese, and salami. Adriatic winds cut through the hot, soggy air and provided a much needed breeze during our hike on the wall.
